PDO / PGI rice

Baraggia Biellese e Vercellese is the only rice PDO in Italy.
There are 7 varieties: Carnaroli, S. Andrea, Baldo, Arborio, Balilla, Loto, Gladio and they are cultivated between the counties of Vercelli e Biella.

The Veronese Vialone Nano PGI rice was the first rice in Italy to obtain Protected Geographical Indication.
The cultivation of this rice in the southern province of Verona represents only 0.6% of Italian rice cultivation, making it a niche product.

The Delta del Po PGI rice owes its peculiarities to the dark and peaty soils of the province of Ferrara and to the alluvial and salty soils of the province of Rovigo.
It is a unique product that benefits from the characteristics of the alluvial lands where it is grown.
